Hilux with German tags.

Also I went somewhere in the MJ tonight.

Kinja'd!!!

It was fun. I changed the valve cover gasket the other day, and I wanted to see if it still stank so bad of burning oil. I maybe didn’t need to change it... Of the 15 valve cover bolts, only three were more than finger-tight. So...um...yeah. It’s definitely better. Still some stank, but I’m hoping that’s just residual from years of puking it everywhere. We’ll see how she goes from here on out. I’m sure the valve cover isn’t the only gasket leaking, but I’m pretty sure it’s the only one that would leak onto the exhaust.

KUN26R HiLux by the look of it, common as dog shit here.

We see a lot of vehicles on Euro tags, German especially here in my part of Nova Scotia - the area was originally settled by German settlers, so they are drawn here! :)

Saw this here a few years ago on Swiss tags - which coincidentally, another forum or Oppo user (I forget!) also saw in Alberta a few months before - talk about an Overlanding rig!

Check you pcv elbows as well. If bad they will leak in a similar way out the top.

No oil on top of the valve cover. Also surprising clean inside.

Kinja'd!!!

More just showing off with that though.

I guess it could be pushing oil out the PCV’s, but the exhaust is pretty clean. Most of the smoke was in the engine bay. I’m pretty sure having 12 of the 15 valve cover bolts not even finger tight was a big culprit there...
